Hullo! I’m working on a piece right now, but as I won’t be done for a few days I wanted to give a test post a try. A photo of Oh Land in a magazine (Nylon) caught my eye, so I did a quick sketch of her. I scrunched up her nose, natch - I can’t seem to draw a beautiful woman without slicing about 5 mils of the end of her nose. Oh dear. To be honest, I had no idea who she was, but I listened to her self-titled album and rather enjoyed it. It’s a little pop-ee for my personal tastes, but Lean performed with a string quartet was really, really lovely and haunting. (Sorry for the ad, but I swear the video is worth it) Apparently she was studying dance at the Royal Danish and Royal Swedish Ballet school until and injury cut that career short…that expains her poise. Why, oh why, did I retire from ballet at the ripe age of 10? Terrible decision, hah…
